Issued as the inaugural medal of the Colorado-Wyoming Numismatic Association and to commemorate the'Pike's Peak Silver Mine. The association was founded in 1952, as noted on the medal. Additionally, Neal of Coloradolables believes only 2-5 Sterling examples exist; gifted to high-ranking CWNA officials. RARITY: Designated "Rare" by T. (TOP POP NGC Pop = 1; NONE Finer - NGC Total Pop = 1) [03/2024]. It has been noted by Neal of Coloradolables that there are likely only 2-5 Sterling examples in existence; struck for high ranking members of the CWNA. (Sterling Silver, 33mm, Octagonal, Plain Edge). OBVERSE: Pike's-Peak / Silver Mine / Colorado Wyoming / Numismatic Association / Inc. Colorado-Wyoming Numismatic Association was officially incorporated in 1952. The Colorado Department of State (CDOP) records indicate the the non-profit was voluntarily dissolved on September 19, 2018.
