Heraldic Art medal struck by Robert McNamara via his Heraldic Art Company of Cleveland, Ohio, who wished to provide a series of high quality commemorative coins for collectors after the Mint stopped its commemorative program in 1954. This specific piece was issued in 1965 to memorialize of the death of Herbert Hoover.

Struck in 0.925 fine silver. This piece has a very slight golden gray tint to the obverse, while the reverse is a light to medium steel gray. One of the "rare" Heraldic Art issues.
