1882 DATED MASONIC PENNY SOUTH PUEBLO CHAP. Brilliant Gem - Pedigree: Maurice A. A beautiful example of this incredibly illusive issue. The obverse exhibits light golden toning, whereas the reverse displays a deep violet in the center of the penny. Overall, exceptional eye-appeal, particularly in-hand.
Silver "Shekel" specimens are scarce alone; however, silver "pennies" are nearly unheard of. This is the first example I have ever seen. The high quality is understandable as being pedigreed in the Maurice A Storck Collection.
Issued in recognition of the Masonic Chapter from Pueblo, Colorado, also known as South Pueblo Chapter #12. Struck in silver and was once included in the Maurice A. RARITY: Unknown; Likely extremely rare. (Silver, 35mm, Round, Plain Edge).
OBVERSE: South Pueblo Chapter No. / Chartered / (Raised/Smooth Keystone) / 1882 / Pueblo, Colorado.
Man / (Masonic Symbol with a Triangle and 3 "M"s) / A Penny.
