Exceptionally handsome example of a true rarity - Brilliant red, persimmon, and tangerine colored surfaces envelope a beautifully struck token. A rare piece by any classification, especially in uncirculated condition. These are attributed to Empire, Colorado circa 1876.
Of the four denominations issued, all are extraordinarily rare. To emphasize the rarity of the series, of the seven varieties issued, the highest number known for any type is just 6. RARITY: Pritchard estimates 3 examples are known. (Copper, 31mm, Round, Plain Edge).
